Overview

Bir Billing is the paragliding capital of India — a meadow takeoff at 2,400 metres with a gentle landing zone in the Tibetan colony below. Most operators run two flights daily (morning thermals are best). You'll get a safety briefing, harness check, and a 15–20 minute glide with an instructor controlling the wing. It's the kind of activity that looks extreme but is genuinely accessible if you're reasonably fit and not acrophobic.

Pro tip

Book the first morning slot. Afternoon thermals are stronger but queues at Billing can stretch past two hours in peak season.
